an undersea, unexplained, mass sponge migration
I finished Heart of Darkness a couple of days ago. It was an odd story. I'm not entirely sure what I think of it really. It wasn't bad but it wasn't really my kind of thing. I guess maybe it wasn't what I was expecting. I'll probably have to read it again to get a better feel for it.
I'm now reading This Is Your Brain On Music. So far I like it. It's refreshed my memory of musical theory. I used to play the Tenor Sax in high school. I miss playing it so much. I used to play the piano as well and a little bit of guitar. I'm rusty at all of them now. Anywhoo, the book talks about how music affects us, scientifically, without reducing it to something altogether boring.
I've been reading a lot more lately. I'd gotten away from reading books for awhile. I've never stopped reading. I love to read and always have. I mostly read online and the occasional newspaper. There's nothing like holding an actual book in your hands though. It's that tangible thing that makes a difference.
